Q:Can Static IP Be Configured On ORS ?
A: If you have root access, you can configure the ORS network however you want. Otherwise, it is not possible to configure a static IP on the ORS through the Panel Management Interface. While it would be possible in theory, it would add complexity to the software network management of ORS and we consider that DHCP is flexible enough for all different use cases: we advise to instead configure your DHCP server to assign a static IP to the ORS by filtering on it's MAC address. The MAC address is displayed in the connection parameters of the eNB and gNB services.
Please also understand that if static IP's were allowed, a mismatch between the configured static IP and the LAN subnet / routing rules would render the ORS unusable until LAN is fixed to match what is configured on the ORS, because ORS configuration depends on the ORS being connected to internet.
Q:Can VLAN Be Configured On ORS ?
A: If you have root access, you can configure the ORS network however you want. Otherwise, if you need any interface (such as S1, Xn, Ng etc...) to go through a VLAN, we can remotely connect to your ORS to configure the required VLAN's and you will then be able to use the configured IP's on the panel (such as by changing GTP address of eNB to the VLAN IP for instance). However, we will only configure these VLAN once, if you wish to change them multiple times in the future additional support may be required.
We do not however allow to connect the ORS to internet through VLAN's, for the same reason as the static IP's, ORS shall remain connected to internet through untagged VLAN to be managed.
