This tutorials explains how to connect an Oukitel WP30 to Standalone 5G with test PLMN, such as with an ORS.

Follow The Generic Tutorial

Please first follow https://handbook.rapid.space/ors/rapidspace-HowTo.How.To.Attach.A.UE.To.Your.ORS in order to configure the APN properly on Android.

Enter Oukitel hidden Android menu

Go to the phone app and dial the following code (as if you were calling someone): *#*#3646633#*#*

This should bring you to a special hidden menu.

Set Service Domain Settings to PS/CS

In the hidden menu, do the following:

  • Once in the hidden menu you should be on the "Telephony" tab (check at the top of the screen)
  • Scroll right to "Connecrtivity" tab (just right to "Telephony")
  • Go to "Service Domain Settings"
  • Go to SIM1 (assuming you have put your SIM card in the primary card slot)
  • Select PS/CS
  • Click "OK"

Enable Dynamic IMS reconfiguration

In the hidden menu, do the following:

  • Go to "Telephony" tab
  • Scroll to "IMS"
  • Click "Primary Card" (assuming you have put your SIM card in the primary card slot)
  • Scroll down to "Dynamic IMS reconfiguration"
  • Make sure "Dynamic IMS reconfiguration" is set to "Enabled"

Reboot your phone

We advise rebooting the phone after these steps.

Make sure 5G is enabled

Swipe from the top right to the bottom right on the screen  to open the Android quick settings menu, and make sure "5G" is enabled.

Wait a while if 5G doesn't work

Please wait a little while (30 minutes at most) if 5G doesn't work. While the Oukitel was a in bad configuration, it might have decided that your 5G SA Network was not working properly and stop attempting to connecting to that network.

You can try to change the cell ID of your gNB to skip the waiting.
