Q: What are the UE that are compatible with ORS ?
A:
Many factors can influence whether a UE will connect successfully to your ORS, you should always test a UE in lab conditions to make sure it works before a demo or deployment.
Amarisoft complies with 3GPP and should support all UEs which also comply to 3GPP, here are the different reasons why your UE might not connect to your ORS:
- Your phone might block the PLMN you are using (many phone block non-operator PLMN IDs, which are flashed into the SIM cards and configured in 5G and core network), this is not related to Amarisoft and will happen regardless of the eNB used. In 5G SA many PLMNs are blocked on Android
- Your phone might block our test sim Cards
- Your phone might not comply with 3GPP and have bugs: we have observed this with multiple phones, especially with 5G SA
- IMS issue: some Android phone OS might disconnect from the network if IMS is not configured properly: https://docs.srsran.com/projects/project/en/latest/tutorials/source/cotsUE/source/index.html#ue-disconnects-after-a-few-minutes
- Core network configuration: your phone might require a different APN configuration
- Your phone might not support the frequency you are using, please first check websites such as https://phonedb.net/ or https://www.gsmarena.com/ to get phone specification
- Some phone advertise bands they do not actually support
- Band support might vary depending on the exact model or region of your phone
For 5G tests with the test PLMN ID (the one when using Amarisoft core network included with your ORS), we recommand using Oukitel WP30 Pro.
Please contact us if you buy the Oukitel WP30 and we will tell you how to configure it
The best option to test phones is to purchase an Amarisoft Callbox.
